Roberts to return to track circuit

30 November 2009

Olympic gold medallist Luke Roberts will return to cycling's UCI ProTour next year, debuting with German team Milram at the Tour Down Under.

Tour Down Under race director Mike Turtur confirmed Milram's rider list on Monday for event in Adelaide next January.

South Australian Roberts, who won a team pursuit track cycling gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, is included in the team.

"While its great to have the international cycling superstars racing in Adelaide, it is always nice to welcome home one of our own," Turtur said in a statement.

The Milram team will be headed by experienced Tour de France cyclists Robert Forster and Markus Fothen and renowned climber Bjorn Schroder, Turtur said.
